How to prepare appliances and electronics for storage
Malaysia's climate makes drying-out the most important step before storage.
- Defrost and fully dry fridges and freezers at least 24 hours before collection
- Run washing machines empty, then air out the drum and seals so no moisture is trapped
- Secure cords and tape doors shut for transit
- Store electronics in their original boxes where possible; a silica-gel pack helps against humidity
- Keep flat-screen TVs and monitors upright, never face-down
